I do my best to share products and tips I personally love. And to show you my commitment to that I’ve included a list of products I love so much I’ve used until they’re empty. Recently, the topic of overconsumption has come to the surface, opening our eyes to our purchasing habits and the aftermath.

What is Overconsumption?

Overconsumption refers to the practice of using more resources, goods, or services than are necessary or sustainable, often driven by a desire for excess or indulgence. It can manifest in various forms, such as purchasing more products than needed, consuming food or energy beyond nourishment, or contributing to the wasteful use of materials and energy. It contrasts with mindful or sustainable consumption, which focuses on meeting needs without exploiting resources or contributing to unnecessary waste.

Overconsumption in America

Influencers have a reputation for recommending products fresh off the mail truck. As soon as it arrives at our door, we’re sharing it. We post unboxing videos, try-ons, and shopping hauls all in a way to get eyes on our content and possibly a conversion in the process. Most of the time this content is highly focused on what the item is like fresh out of the package while relying on first impressions and initial reactions. I’m becoming more aware as I get product samples from time to time to commit to seeing the products through.

It’s also sustainable to commit to a product from start to finish. We’re basically over here saving the planet! Kidding, as I definitely have products I need to use up myself. These are the items I have bought more than once and are worth the recommendation if you’re looking for products that go the distance.

Here is a list of my favorite beauty products to help achieve your daily look and items to support your workout goals.

Best Beauty Tips for Makeup

Ultimate Primer For Your Foundation

Stila One Step, Color Corrector & Brightening Primer is the absolute best primer I have ever tried! This color-correction primer pumps out like a fun soft-serve swirl in fun colors (purple, peach and green)! Overall, I feel like it neutralizes any redness or dark spots and leaves my foundation looking flawless. I’ve been using this product for years (and honestly, the tube will last as long). It’s worth every penny, and I feel like photos with this primer are stunning.

Check it out here on Amazon.

Eye Shadow Pencils for Every Day

The Julep Beauty Eyeshadow Pencils are one product I use almost every day. These eyeshadow pencils are a lifesaver if you’re looking to save time applying your makeup. It’s a pencil eyeshadow combo, so you won’t need any additional application tools. I usually apply a lighter color on the inner part of my lid and a darker on the outer. I use my ring finger to soften the line between the two.

I’ve also found this product to be a great base for eyeshadow. Check out the video below, and you can find it on Amazon here.

Mascara You’ll Use Until the End

The Tarte Maneater Black Magnetic Volumptuous Mascara is incredible! This mascara is gorgeous and elongates my lashes without clumping. The overall look is gorgeous and I love how much my lashes look incredibly long. Also, it has a 4.6-star rating on Amazon. See how this mascara looks in the video above!

You can find it here on Amazon.

Workout and Runner Skin Care Favorites

Baby Wipes for Adults

Huggies baby wipes are the most rogue of the items on this list, but hear me out! In the summer, I’m usually sneaking in extra training runs and workouts and due to the nature of summer, it’s just hot outside.

A woman's hand is holding an empty package of Huggie's natural care baby wipes on a wooden deck.

Having baby wipes on hand in my gym bag has been a lifesaver for grabbing brunch plans after a long run. It also helps to feel fresh if I’ve done housework and don’t have time for a full shower. Overall, baby wipes are the unsung hero of surviving marathon training, and they don’t get enough credit (they’re amazing).

I love the scent of the Huggies Cucumber Melon and Green Tea wipes. While you probably don’t need the economy pack available here on Amazon, you can get a smaller package at your neighborhood big box or drug store. Again, in the nature of sustainability, purchase only what you need.

If you want a wipe option with deodorant features, this option from Lume is really great for balancing your pH.

Dry Shampoo for Wet Hair

Bumble and Bumble Post-Workout Spray

I can’t say enough about this spray! It will make my list every time. The thing that’s tough about dry shampoo is if your hair is damp and you add a powder, I’m always nervous it’s going to create a paste in my hair. The thing that’s different about this spray is it’s for damp hair. Simply spray on your hair after a workout, wait 30 seconds and massage into your hair at the root. You can then let your hair air dry or blow it out as normal.

Want to try it? Available in full and travel size. See a demo here.
