Welcome to another lifestyle blog? Maybe. I want to believe this one’s different. I’ve started blogs the way some people start Instagram accounts—niche, specific, and always personal. This time, I’m here to stay.

What is a Lifestyle Blog?

I’ll do my best to keep it interesting and honestly, before you stop me to say you’ve seen this movie before… don’t. I know there are a lot of lifestyle blogs out there. Good lifestyle blogs take you to a place where the topics seem wildly different and yet fit. Great lifestyle blogs to that and leave you wanting more. The desire to write and create is very familiar territory for me. I’ve started blogs the way some people start Instagram accounts: Extremely niche and with a very specific purpose.

Screenshot of the "Canned Beer Classy" blog homepage, featuring a bold header, motivational tagline, and blog posts about personal growth, marathon training, and healthy habits. The sidebar includes social media links and a Facebook widget displaying a profile image and a collection of beer cans. The design has a classic blog layout with a clean and nostalgic aesthetic.

Remember My First Blog, Canned Beer Classy?

You probably don’t and that’s okay.

If you’ve known me a long time, then you’ll know this isn’t my first attempt at launching a blog. In fact, this is my fourth blog. There was a time and place where writing was the gateway to understanding the layers within my emotions.

Each site had its purpose. My first blog, Canned Beer Classy, was based on the idea that (at the time) drinking beer from a can was viewed as low class and here I was letting go of judgment so I could truly be myself.

I grew up so scared of drawing any attention to myself that I didn’t know who I was at all. Sometimes I go back and read those older posts, and I am in awe at such raw and open honesty. I modeled my writing based on popular lifestyle blogs I read, and I truly admired the authors for sharing so openly. It was a beautiful passage of being vulnerable and true to myself while letting go of what other people thought. In the current days of blogging and search engine optimization, it was a whole different world. But it taught me a lot about what it was like to be seen, and I am grateful for that.

My Second Blog, Relish and Mustard

Relish and Mustard was a year I focused on tackling an experience wish list (I’m doing something similar this year with my 2024 Bingo Card). I created this second blog as an opportunity to showcase my zest for tackling new experiences.

Instead of New Year’s resolutions, I made a list of everything I wanted to do for a year. I loved how much people got into it! I had friends show me everything from learning how to knit to how to create an eBay listing. It showed me how to create community when I was scared to ask for support.

This year with my Bingo Card, I am feeling that same sense of connection and I am so excited to make this an annual tradition.

The Third Phase of My Blogging Journey: Life And Lizdom

Screenshot of the "Life and Lizdom" blog homepage with the tagline "Finding a More Balanced Life (Through Liz's Life Experience)." The layout features a soft pink and brown color scheme, with blog posts about personal growth, goal setting, and healthy living. Thumbnails include a journal entry, a breakfast plate with fruit and toast, and a "Hello" greeting card. A sidebar contains a search bar and recent posts, enhancing navigation for readers.

Life and Lizdom was focused on my weight loss journey. At the time I found it helpful to share my experience after I lost 100 pounds. Everyone wanted to know what I was doing. How did I get started? What was I eating? Was I drinking? I felt like I was helping others, but if I am being frank, it made me feel like I lived in a fishbowl. I started to hyper-focus on my diet and workouts in an unhealthy way. Eventually, I stopped writing and sought help for an eating disorder. That’s a story for another day.

Introducing a Running Blog

A few weeks ago I started to get the writing bug again. I was partly inspired by tapping into my creative side by starting a TikTok account. It’s weird to think I needed to feel I need to protect my content with the threat of a TikTok ban. I’ve felt like there is a lot of creative energy flowing through me that I need to get out. It was an itch that creating a video couldn’t quite scratch (and it’s a lot less time-consuming). My desire to edit video has been replaced with the need to make this blog the best lifestyle blog I’ve created yet.

I decided to start a clean slate. New URL, baby! (Also, my attempts to recover my old site have been unsuccessful; honestly, a blessing). I am really excited to share my experiences as a human who happens to run marathons, travel, and is discovering her personal style through this lifestyle blog. Think marathon training best practices, travel advice, favorite fashion items, and recipes! And a lot of self-discovery. Running has become my entire personality, so having this blog be rooted as a running blog made perfect sense.

Training Tips for Busy Runners

One of the biggest draws for me with creating this blog is how much I’ve learned training for 12 marathons. I’ve figured out how to balance working full-time and training for a marathon every summer since 2017 while having a social life. I love passing tips and life hacks that have gotten me here. I also love sharing my favorite gear and travel essentials, which you can find here on my storefront.

A Travel Blog for Runners

I’ve started blogs the way some people start Instagram accounts, very niche, specific, and always personal. Writing has always helped me make sense of my world, whether it was learning to embrace myself (Canned Beer Classy), chasing experiences (Relish and Mustard), or navigating my health (Life and Lizdom). Now, I’m here with a fresh start; Run. Wander. Wear. is a space for runners, travelers, and anyone figuring out their personal style. It’s also a place to share my thoughts and my personal journey. Let’s go!

I’m excited to have you here! Whether you’re a runner, traveler, or just looking for inspiration, I’d love for you to follow along. Drop a comment and tell me: what’s your favorite way to run, wander, or wear?
